A bit on the Creatives —

Peruse their work and get up-close and personal with some creative minds from the craft of Film making and Photography, Art & Design —

Pedal Power’s B&A Collective will have an exhibition showcasing an eclectic mix of work from five creatives specialising in a variety of media — from film and photography to ceramics all inspired by our beautiful sport of cycling.


Craig Mitchell_

Ceramics

Craig’s an Edinburgh based maker of ceramic figures. He established his studio practice in Edinburgh whilst working in the ceramic department at Edinburgh college of Art, initially as technician and latterly as a lecturer. Before this he achieved an MA in ceramics at The Royal College of Art, which he believes formed the foundation of his creative thinking and a fascination with clay.

Scott Mitchell_

Photographer

Immersed in Mod culture, Scott Mitchell has photographed musicians including Paul Weller, The Specials, Steve Craddock and Ocean Colour Scene, but in recent years has also become very well known in the cycling community as the photographer shooting for Team Sky and Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Romain Bardet and the list goes on.

Custom shoe designer

There’s gonna be some serious shoe game on show from super talented James of @gallusbaffies - Glasgow based custom shoe master craftsmen ; come and check out his work and see a special collection of unique hand painted shoes.

He’s teamed up with Shimano-Road and have something pretty special in the works.

Tetsuro Ohno - “Uncle Rinne”_

Illustrator

Tokyo-based illustrator Tetsuro Ohno created the character Uncle Rinne, who lives many different cycling lives. Rinne is a road cyclist, a track cyclist, a bikepacker, and a Tour de France winner. Each of these humorous illustrations is simple, but drawn with accurate details that the cyclist in your life will appreciate.

David McGill_

Artist & Illustrator

Breakaway Artist Prints is David McGill, a cyclist and artist from Glasgow, Scotland. A Glasgow School of Art Graduate, David takes inspiration from cycling to produce unique, painterly style prints. His prints include his favourite Scottish hill climbs, iconic races and more. All work is designed, printed and shipped from his South Side studio

Roddy MacNeill_

Abstract Artist
Roddy MacNeill is an abstract artist based just outside of Glasgow. Known for richly textured surface design and bold palettes he has exhibited throughout Scotland. Having tackled table tennis and skateboarding he is relishing applying his art to cycling. As a former racing cyclist he has maintained a fascination with road racing and its aesthetics.

Andy Shaw_

Photographer

Scottish based photographer Andy known principally for documenting the Scottish skateboard scene in the early 90’s. Latterly and for the past 10 years he has documented Edinburgh’s cycle scene and principally the life and death of the track culture and the decommissioning of the iconic Meadowbank Velodrome.
